So, to summarise:

• Extremely similar, at least at a surface level, to The Witcher 3 in presentation and immediate impressions, largely due to Rebel Wolves being made up of a number of ex-CDPR staff, including lead writers/artists/etc.
• Set in Vale Sangora, a 14th century kingdom, that is protected against the plague ravaging Europe and outsider invasion by a vampire lord who requires monthly blood sacrifices where villagers provide blood at vampire mass. Most villagers will survive the process, but sickly people may not. Coen (predetermined, not customisable) is the protagonist, a miner, who is concerned the next blood sacrifice will cost the life of his sick mother. While the citizens of the kingdom are compliant with the vampire lord, a dissent and a rebellion is growing. Coen is transformed into a vampire during the prologue, but his silver mining background provides his body a resistance during daylight hours.
• Game progression runs on a “30 Day Clock”, where key actions and decisions move time forward (e.g. progressing quests through key dialogue), not real time. Free engagement with quests. Players can choose to ignore them and focus exclusively on the prime objective, if they want to, and even prime objectives can be ignored and the game will continue on regardless. Quests will play out regardless of your choice to engage with them or not, with consequences/results demonstrated in the narrative and world, and ignoring/apathy a choice aligned with any other. In the prologue, it was impossible to complete ‘all quests’.
• During the day, Coen functions as a human with access to witchcraft, such as animating and speaking to the dead. During the night, he plays as a vampire, with vampiric abilities such as walking on walls, teleporting, drinking blood, and transforming into wolves. Majority of quests can be tackled during day or night, providing different approaches based on priority game systems. Can play most if not the entire game focusing exclusively on day or night, but will be difficult as you essentially halve the amount of ‘time’ available to beat the main quest.
• Main quest is to save your family. You can beeline straight there, Breath of the Wild style, and try your luck. Can also be entirely ignored and the game will progress regardless. Presumed to be many secret endings and other special world/quest states that can be discovered through how you play.
• Quest essential characters can be killed, eliminating progression of their quests.
• Blood hunger, if left unchecked, can infiltrate dialogue, with dialogue choices warping into something unintentional and, if the player isn’t careful, resulting in selecting responses that transform into something more sinister and potentially feed on and/or kill the person they’re speaking to.
• Primary combat mode is similar to The Witcher 3 but with a directional based system for parries and blocks. Correct timing at the right direction retain stamina and fills a charge meter for other abilities. Positioning and crowd control important. Can use vampire powers in combat at night. For players who don’t like the directional system, there is an optional traditional action combat system that can be toggled on.
